Does anyone can anymore??? Or am I weird???

I am in mid process of making HTML clipboardzucchini pickles. They have to marinade for 90 minutes then get stuff added and marinade for 2 more hours. Then sit for 4 weeks till we can eat them. In fact all the pickles I am canning in the next 3 days have to sit for 4 weeks before we can sample them.

Some more in my storage area with a few jars of last years pickles and applesauce

And some more jars. You can never have enough!!! It just means there is more stuff you need to can if the jars are empty.

And if I get really motivated I make my own sodas!! We did a ginger one with real ginger and it was good. We use yeast to make the bubbles.

I would can if my circumstances were different. I used to do a lot of canning, and I miss it. When I was a kid we even made the bubblies like you do. Mom made home-made rootbeer and also canned fruit juices in pop/beer bottles. We LOVED it!

Many people don't cook anymore, let alone can their own food. But you are not alone in your weirdness for I am here, too. I have canned since I was 18 and am now 49. That's a lot of canning! As a matter of fact, I canned a crate of peaches today and also made a batch of blackberry jam. Next week...canning tomatoes and freezing corn. I don't mind the work and my eight-year-old daughter loves to help.
