Homeward Bound
Today was awesome!!! I am so emotionally touched and moved I can't believe the day. We went back to the Nauvoo sights and saw so many things... We found a memorial wall for all the pioneers who lost their lives on he way to Salt Lake City. We found 6 or so of Dave's family listed there. We went and saw the blacksmith and Stephie got a cool horse shoe. We went to the brickyard and learned how bricks were made. We dipped our toes in the Mississippi river and the girls were surprised it was warm!!! I got munched up by bugs big time! We saw Joseph Smith's final resting spot. We saw his first house with his wife Emma.
We headed over to Carthage and saw the jail there. We
saw the bullet holes in the door that killed Hyrum Smith. We saw the room where
Joseph Smith was sot and the window he fell out of. We saw the spot on the
ground he landed and took his finally breaths. It was incredible! I cannot tell
you how moved I am. It absolutely touching. We then headed out on our way West.
We wound up tonight in Mexico. Mexico Missouri that is. The girls are having way
to much fun saying we are in Mexico.
OHH!! We had Sonic!!!!!!! We do not have them at home. The
cherry limeade was incredible!!!! I am getting one in the morning before we head
out. The plan is ot be in Dodge City Kansas tomorrow night and then spend
Tuesday touring the city and possibly staying one more night. Then on to Salt
lake we go.
I have heard Kansas is not a lot of fun to drive across so we shall see. We are
scheduled to derive across the entire state as of right now. I am thinking the breaks we are taking are helping a lot but It makes it
hard when I am really tired of being in the car already.
